so ridza attempted to mug today. he went to mac donald's at changi airport terminal 2 and he got politely asked to leave the fast food outlet at about 6.30 due to the fact that the manager said that she "needs the place for other people" and that "self study is not allowed". i could have retorted but didnt wanna make life difficult for her, afterall i frequent there and she was nice enough to let us stay for a couple of hours. if i wanted to say anything. it wld be like "ok, we will leave when we see this place reaching its carrying capacity" or "there are many other ppl not doing anything, r u gonna ask them leave also?". but i decided to be nice today cause it dont wanna make life difficult for other people. and. yeapz. went to coffee bean with grace ong. initially cldnt decide whether to mug there coz we didnt see anybody mugging so we assumed that perhaps the manager chased them out or smtg, coz we stood very long and observed the ppl. then the manager gave some sort of stare. and we decided to 1) put our bags down. 2)buy a drink.. no 2 drinks. 3) mug. than grace found a fly in her latte and ahuh. we were assured she wont get chase out. i mean, we were assuring ourselves that is.
today was such an encouragement due to the fact that grace ong told me that her ex classmates in st hildas did pretty well for their As last yr. with 4As and 3As.. straight As in short. ppl getting into law and stuff although none got into medicine although they got 4As coz they were not from rj or hcjc or smtg. oh well. the point is that, if they can do it, we shld try to achieve it too. but maybe not for prelims, i guess stuff arent good at this moment, not that i had a major screw-up but my standard is not good enough. as in, aiming for perfection. perfection in my sense translates to a high standard of skill and knowledge. not hoping for 100% in black and white, but 100% by my own standard which is supposed to be the best i can attain.
im aiming high for As, this is to encourage myself to mug. after i sit for the papers, i will change my target. lessen the expectation, so i will be more satisfied if im gonna do well, and not as heart broken if i was to do badly. we cant be certain of anything in life. what's impt is that we bother to plan. because failing to plan is planning to fail. however, we must always remind ourselves that what we plan for can only be achieved given the green light by the almighty. things happen for a reason(s). perhaps we shld try to look on the bright side of everything. it may be tough. although its rumoured that the person who wrote or sang that look on the bright side of life song eventually committed suicide. don't know if its true.
sometimes, if we get so sick and tired of life, remember.. our antibodies are strong enough to eradicate them. life might not be as meaningful as we desire it to be but it never gets meaningless. life is never direction-less, cause where ever we are heading or even if we go backwards, its still a direction. think far, aim high, hope more but expect less. think far refers to planning for the future. always bear in mind that planning does not equate to success. aim high means setting your mind to achieve a certain goal. hope more means wishing for something big to happen. however, dont believe that most wishes do not come true, cause its inappropriate to think that way in this exceptional case. however, be prepared to face dissapointment cause like wishes, they might not come true. expectations are usually the result of a flow of processes. as such, it is best that we lower our expectation to make us more satisfied and to enable the sense of accomplishment at the end. the more we expect, the less satisfied we will be.
