So they launched the second part of the project today. I made calls to 100 muhd-something. Yeah. Generally nice people. Down-to-earth and simple. They sounded really glad and happy that we call them. Coz im representing a government body. Once u mention CDC or AMP or SINDA or CDAC or EA or some self-help grp, you can imagine seeing their faces glow. Its like we might tell our friends that we are working at singtel call centre, doing outbond surveys but its seriously not as bad as it seems(so far). Coz once we hear that its a tele-surveyor, we might think that its those kind of irritating jobs that ask endless questions. So far, the people i called are willing to share their confidential information. Like salary, why u dont like the job etc. Its an eye opener, or rather a ear opener. Coz we hear stuff that we can nvr imagine of. Like in a family of 8, the sole breadwinner earns less than 1000 per month. Or the older workers who are unable to get a job because employers discriminate them due their old age. All the concerns of the unemployed are close to our heart. LOL. So i made 100 calls in 6.5 hours. Half of them were unreachable. So i have to call them tmr again. Amazingly, its not that bad lah. we thought we would panic. coz we have like 2 screening questions afterwhich we are supposed to jump to different sets of questions which was like super complicated. but we got the hang of it. its kinda cool. coz we got to play with the little machine that we make our calls with(called callmaster). and yeah. have i said that my colleague, damairia looks like sophan. and angela looks like andrew tham. LOL. and the director went ard giving oranges. lol. and i got a slice of cake for my bday. happens that sharifah's bday was yesterday. haha. Damai was damn funny. Coz she had some mandarin speaking respondents and she was like trying her best to speak chinese. then she gave up, put the customer on hold and had to get seng lam to come over. work tmr 11-9. yeah. i dont have much friends to go out with, so it doesnt really matter to me. I only like e cash. yeah. :x
