I have all along been passionate in every work or task that i commit myself to. I love the satisfaction that is derived from good work performance and the learning experience that comes along together. More importantly, i find the ability to overcome stress the most meaningful lesson that can ever be learnt.
Lots of changes have been taking place these few days. First of all, WE HAVE MIGRATED since 12/01/2006! We have brand new HP computers with flat screen monitors and attached speakers. And yeap. winXP. Actually there's nothing fascinating. Just that probably we don't expect the SAF to be operating on winXP. Lol.
Actually we changed the floor layout of our section 1 day before migration. So we actually pushed all the cupboards and filing cabinet together to create a partition. My workstation faces HuiPheng. I have decided that i shall use the computer that was supposed to be shared between jon and me where as jon shall use pat's comp in the absence of the NS OIC.
And the RUDE partition contractor came and we chose some royal blue colour as our partition.
Don't know how long before the partition finally arrives.
Oh well. Been hearing news of restructuring. Somehow CPC recently was alerted on our staffing level. We are so screwed. They are gonna cut manpower to everybody's dismay. To start it off, they are cutting it singapore wide partly due to the dragon babies and probably to save costs as well.
So its a timely period for Pat to go off; the incumbent cannot be released as of now. So it is mainly me and hp running the show and seriously im getting very stressed with the tremendous amount of workload. But its ok. :) i will enjoy it.
And about Pat going off. We had a little makan function for him. It was his birthday today too. He seemed very cheerful and happy. Long time since he last behaved like he did today. Clearly his expressions indicated that he has been waiting so long for this moment - the moment where he can leave e Bn, after 3 years.
Despite his shortcomings, he tried his best to perform well by putting in his utmost effort in everything that he do. I kind of didn't bother to reply his farewell email coz i see no point in doing so. I have to admit that although im not favourable of his working style, he is ultimately my boss and he has taught lots as the best of his ability.
I don't know why my post sounds so somber and its all about NS. Actually i went for dinner with Dys1 and Kelvin after wrk today (and i ran. 3km and it didnt feel like anything coz we were talking despite our shortness of breath etc). We went holland v to have erm BK. And yes, that was my FIRST time having dinner in holland V. Afterwhich i went to Tiong Bahru Plaza coz Kelvin needed to settle some business(literally) stuff. And then had a chat abt Work. Interesting chat i must say. We sound determined to bring the branch to a higher level. Well. It is just very refreshing to talk to someone who likes to observe the way things work.
