I cant believe i ran 7.5km today(ok ok i jogged lah). But still the furthest i'd gone nowadays is just 6km.

2) Everything Also Spoilt

My key press key was stuck in the key press. Had a good time destroying the key press coz the key broke and was stuck inside.

I just came back from my unit's celebratory dinner in lieu of the numerous awards won for the previous and current workyear. It seems that in every workyear, gsmbians are rewarded with at least 3 dinner functions namely unit anniversary, award celeb and CO's evening. Its no easy feat to squeeze almost 80 tables(of 10 pax each) into the normal ordinary size ballrooms.

Oh Well. Today's event really showed a different side of my branch. Gone are the days of cliques and i-hate-u u-hate-me politics. For the current batch, despite our differences and disagreements over work, we will still sit together to enjoy whatever there is to enjoy. For once, my branch personnel openly expressed their pride of being in the branch.

The event was surprisingly quite good. Better than the previous ones i attended i guess. But there were dirty elements that were kind of over the limit. Shant describe.

Anw i only knew lots of ppl were drunk.

And anw, today is kenny's last working day. Some kind of stirred up emotion in me. Coz kenny is one of the oldest ppl in the branch. And he is undeniably the most helpful. Its like yes, its time to let go. But then you are so used to that person's presence in the office, you cant imagine what is life going to be like without the person. It reminds me of Emily. The switch to MES was kind of sudden. Initially was not used to not seeing emily next to kenny. Which reminds me that Hui Pheng and Mdm Seetoh wld soon be leaving. And also my direct supervisor. but i dont really care abt her. coz she only cares abt herself. and oh my. the terrible working style.. wonder how she get all e promotion~

Its like we experience this kind of feeling all the time. You cant bear to see the person go, but then you know its for the benefit of that person.

Cant imagine what im going to feel when i ORD. like got 9 mth plus. and tons of stuff to do. :(

Was quite pissed over a little incident this afternoon. Jason and i rushed down a flight of stairs to S4 branch. Upon reaching the landing, we bumped into HQ COY CSM. He asked us why we didnt pick up the litter on the stairs. My. If you are really so concerned abt cleanliness, go become a cleaner. No. Seriously. If you think that the litter shldnt be there, then you should be a good role model by picking it and throwing it away yourself. I was just pissed coz he was treating us that way coz we are S1 Branch Clerks.

Gonna go Kranji Camp tmr to handover some dockets. And gonna go Sembawang camp to hand over some of Mdm Saadah's things. Yes. Even with 2 OICs after her, her things are still in my office.

And oh. I was just thinking. My unit quite stingy. Win so many things but combine the celebration to just one dinner where muslims got to sit with muslims and im kinda screwed coz all my friends are in S1 Br and my only muslim friends are in medical centre and syahiid..

what a PHEW!~ Day. Read that.. PHEW!~

I talked to lots of ppl from NSAD today. Somebody from Deferment Section. Someone from CallUp Section. Someone from NSPC. And Someone from NSRB. Got to say all of them r nice and helpful.

Was very occupied today. Clearing left-over shiet work from yesterday. And preparing for ICT. And arguing with ppl not worth arguing with.

Went for early lunch as usual, but decided to hang ard when chief, shaun, kenny and emily went for lunch. quite fun i must say.

And what a nice way to end your tiring day when someone says to you "but you all are very free what"

and the debate goes on... if you really think im very free, you're free to do all my work.

and i can go on and on saying that i have no clear demarcation of what my job scope entails BLAH BLAH BLA

Today marks my 1st year in GSMB! Wow. Remember my 1st day. I reported quite early, abt 0715. Went to HQ MES instead coz it said so in my posting orders. (CPC screwed up, or so, claimed docu ppl). And then went to GSMB OE room. Sat and waited. Went to S1 Branch orderly room after lunch. And waited again. Chief Clerk was on MC. So had to wait and wait for Kenny/Emily's instruction. Oh well. So much have changed.

Andrew n Ernest came back today. Didnt really talk to them although i talked some crap to Andrew as usual. Was very busy clearing up shit-ass work as usual. Like totally shit-ass-crap stuff today...

Life in camp is getting increasingly hectic. But it will be a bore to describe everything that happened(as usual) because its the weekends.

Was really very very stressed today. First of all, S1 came in with an MP letter. And i usually undertake such prepare-for-him-important-but-waste-time-letters job. When i got him to vet(he always have a lot of changes everywhere), he was sending some sort of email to some CP personnel from 6 Div. I learnt that Mdm Lee managed to get a new job as CAS. And he was like.. "ridza.. so how. huipheng need to be released. so does mdm lee. you become the de facto chief clerk at yr side lah. warrant officer." of course he was joking lah. come on. even DXOs cant perform and shine doing this kind of job a this kind of unit. shall not elaborate more coz im actually sick of it. Coz its not fair to both of them in every way lah. But S1 is trying to be fair to me and himself also. I think the section will just collapse if theres just NSF running the show. If theres like someone as experienced, i think 2 senior nsfs and 1 junior nsf can run the section. And training someone takes a veryyyyy longgg time.... But at least no matter how stressed up i am, it does not warrant me to stay back do OT like e docu ppl. they have been staying back until 9plus everyday, as if its pre-pats coz they r gonna hand over everything to CAC(yes, since months ago).. wish them luck. i mean cac.

And then obviously there wasn't time to visit me.

Wow! What a sunday.

Had a couple of appointments today, since im not doing the-thing-that-i-usually-do on weekends.

ORIGINAL PLAN was to meet Syahiid and Ronald for lunch, and then to visit Jacinth at Taka and then to look for DyS1 whom i shall address him by his name, GOH JIALE since he is already a civilian, and then to meet Dor and Company for dinner.

But THANKS TO THE WET WEATHER, i ended up sleeping at home. And when i woke up, it was almost time to meet Dor and Company. Found out that they didnt meet up for lunch because they had originally expected some kind of confirmation from me. And then obviously there wasnt time to visit my GOOD friend, Jacinth. And so on my way to the MRT, Jiale called and reminded me of my appt. I rushed down to Clarke Quay. I was aware that it is some network company so was quite prepared for it. Jiale gave me an intro of the company's profile and its high achieving managers. Frankly, was not really impressed because it is giving the wrong signal; that if you work hard enough and follow this proven system, you will make big money. I think it is nonsense. But on the other hand, i just wanted to find out more. You wouldn't know if you don't see it yourself. While he was explaining, Pwee called me saying that they were all waiting for me. So i had to leave. And i walked all the way from Clarke Quay to Suntec City, in like 10 to 15 minutes. Lol. Actually was running halfway. The route was not at all unfamiliar, I remember walking from the Singtel Building at Pickering Street to Raffles City once last year, after a weekend shift.

So all of us are interested to make more money, so that we can save more and at the same time, spend more. Though im no longer that excited when i go on outings and gatherings as i used to be, it is still quite fun to have the desire of owning the materialistic items you see.

Another week to endure. Another busy work that is. Just need to minimize my expenditure on weekdays and all will probably be fine.

Have a Good Week!

I was quietly observing the attention that Kelvin Tan got when he was in East Parkway MacDonalds as Jason brought him along for our branch outing. So it really is true, when you somehow become a popular icon, you will lose your privacy. As it is the school holidays, there were lots of teenagers. In their groups, they were excited with the presence of a superstar(literal meaning too). The giggling school-age kids were all following(stalking) him. It was indeed a headturning situation. Saw how he declined a parent's(or rather an auntie's) request for her daughter to take a photo together with him. Because like he said, he was indeed dressed-down. And i guess its a policy by some recording/media giant that he shld be presentable enough should he want to interact with his fans or smtg.

Now back to the main issue. As we are often busy doing our own things at our own little corners of the world, we tend to overlook the handicapped. Its not that they need our sympathy or empathy. Just that we shld learn to appreciate what we have and what we are able to do.

Anyway, i cycled back and forth from e sailing centre to mac donalds a couple of times today. Was quite fun, but unlike the previous outing, i cycled alone today coz everybody were dispersed all over.

Had an early bbq dinner. Food was good. But still left early.

Gonna be busy. Happy coz its Pay Day tmr. like finally.

And oh i took 14 home today. well. such a nostalgic route!

Like any other weekends, the first thing i do when i wake up is to grab the papers and read them. I look forward to The Sunday Times because i like its layout and the way issues of various themes and subjects are casually discussed. However, i think its becoming increasingly more of a tabloid paper, in comparison to the normal weekday Straits Times. Not to say that The Straits Times is too serious(it has fun sections like Life daily and Digital Life, Mind your Body & Urban Sections which are published once a week) but i feel that the sunday times is getting too gossipy. As if they ran out of topics to talk about.

Just to quote two examples(i didnt really scrutinize today's paper because i woke up late at 1130 and i had to leave the house at 1230).

1. the TPJC teacher-student incident part where their tpjc.net conversation was exposed to the entire school by a silly year 2 student who read the messages of the girl who didnt log out of the system and decided to forward it to the entire school. Now, that's really stupid. I mean the teacher might be at fault for being too cheeky(or rather, over-friendly). The girl might be at fault for behaving just as over-friendly to the teacher(well, they like those kind of attn from male teachers dont they?) and its also her fault for not logging off(having experienced a situation where i had to delete my entire friendster account because some idiot in tpjc library changed my nick to ILoveTits in 2003 <-- looking back i think its hilarious). The year 2 student who forwarded the entire thing to everyone in the entire college(pity that i didnt get the message. KIDDING! =) ) shouldnt have done what he did. Its a matter of privacy and confidentiality. We are often reminded when we forward emails - that if they are not meant to be the recepient then they shouldnt read it). But whatever it is, i hope that it wouldn't discourage the teacher. Because teachers are human. And i don't think the teacher was being overly friendly. He was probably just trying to make the student more comfortable, ie. to remove the student-teacher barrier that often exist. He just wanted to communicate with the student. The comments on her legs being sexy and sporty was probably intended to be a casual remark. I mean, you cannot figure the intonation/mood/purpose of words unless its said. And i guess all of us have taken literature at at least sec level. So yes.
Quite saddening that such a small issue has been blown out of proportion. I think its not a matter of the conversation, but that of the way the matter spread to the entire community.

And the irony is that when i flipped a couple of pages, there was some TPJC 20th anniversary advertisement calling for all ex students and staff to participate in some kind of activities.

2) Some article which discusses that the trees along Orchard Road should be cut down so as to make the buildings more apparent, just like what they do in other cities. Also, its to make the place more lively, blah blah blah.

Hellooooo... Trees provide Shade!! Imagine walking along Orchard Road at 12noon without any shade provided by lush greenery!

And i think the trees gives our buildings more character.

It makes Singapore distinct. And its not like "the relevant authorities"(as often mentioned by our ever so caring singaporeans) are not pruning and maintaining the trees enough!

Do we realy want Singapore to look like any other city?

Think about it... Orchard Road isnt "Orchard" Road for nothing~

First of all, i feel very happy for HuiPing coz she managed to secure a DX6/7 post at the new NSHRC. When she received the bad news of no MI/Promotion/bad banding the other time, i assured her that there wld be something good coming her way. And then this happened. So really very very happy for her.

When i went over to docu side yesterday morning, shaun was murmuring "superstar.. superstar". turns out that a disruptee who resumed his NSF liability is a contestant of the project superstar thingy ie. Jason Tan. Sat on the same table for lunch today and kinda friendly guy.

Had a good time yesterday evening. Went to celebrate Xue Kun's Bday. Was a last minute thing organised by Bharat but had quite a good turn out. Ie. Rizal, Desmond, Andrew, Clarence, Bharat, Derek, Gareth, Sunny, XueKun and Me. As well as Charlene and Caleb who joined later on. Was quite good meeting the-old-friends. Some of them are enlisting soon. Congrats to those who made it to local Uni. Not easy to be top 5/10% of poly cohort! And bharat.. its really weird that u rejected NUS biz ad's offer. LOL.

A lame joke which Rizal came up with.
At the police station,
When the chinese call, they say
"i want to complain..."
when the indians call, they say
"how much is the bail? can i call my lawyer?"
when the malays call, they say
"has my son been caught?"

lol.
