And yet another day in the office. Sometimes, its not that you want recognition. But its kind of disappointing when your boss appear to be taking you for granted. I'm not talking about myself in particular. Rather its how the whole branch is run. We are treated like machines, with the operator having full control by delegating everything. And our only welfare benefit is when the operator calls it a day - He goes home. Which means that the machines need not work.
Admin work is really tedious. I think im a social worker now.
- Beg my RQ to urgently indent 2 sets of SBO for nsmen who just called to say they dekit their items when they ord-ed ten years ago and have not attended any NS activity eversince coz they have been sitting on the holding list.
- Entertain an NSman who wishes to be deferred because his wife just gave birth in march, he has 3 children to take care, he is currently unemployed because of poor health blah blah blah. At the end of the day, just transferred e case to boss. And am unable to contact him ever since.
- Find out why this guy is called up for ICT when he OOC for BMT when he was an NSF and discover that they posted him to our unit wrongly.
- remind ppl to remind other ppl to turn up for their appointments
- remind ppl to remind other ppl to monitor the injury cases
- figure out how the darn inpro/outpro machine ensemble works after not using it for many months.
- happily investigate and submit input to NSRB for MP cases
- make sure that ppl fast before their blood test and that they turn up for blood test on time otherwise they got to come down another day because the blood wld alreayd be despatched off for tests.
- trace dockets for ppl who nvr check their own records properly
- chase ppl for stuff that they will nvr hand over coz they probably lost it
- chase ppl to update their own personal private particulars and tell them that i cannot do it for them
- blah blah blah blah
- despite all the a/m(and many many more, im only a harmless LCP NSF no power ADMIN SUPPORT ASS. i cant believe i wrote so many. although its not so much actually.
Chief Clerk drove us out for lunch again(me and the docus that is - shaun, timothy, jason and me). We went to check out Tiong Bahru Market's newly upgraded hakwer centre. And there was like only 1 or 2 desperate looking muslim stalls selling boring malay fare of mee siam, mee rebus and nasi lemak. And for the first time i tried almond beancurd. Kind of like it. Don't know whats with lunching out nowadays. When they went to Ghim Moh yesterday for lunch, i asked them to buy food from Mc Donalds(which closed down), and so i had Chicken rice(as if u r interested to know what i had). The chicken rice was nice, but the portion given was kind of pathetic.
So many ppl posting out/ORD. When is my turn?
