I haven't been blogging because I have been studying 24/7. SIAO! CRAZY! If I have been studying 24/7, I will not have the energy to blog right now lah.

Anyway, some updates. Despite my supposedly busy study schedule, I managed to:
1) Meet Hak for Dinner last Wed after he touched down in the morning.
2) Attended Jermaine's 21st Bday.
(Erps. Yeah. That's all)

3 papers down. 3 more to go.
Hmm. Shall not comment on them because I have no comments(and when people say no comments, it's because they don't have anything good to say)

Anyway, been keeping up with the news regarding the dragonboat incident. Tragic. Saddening. Although people die anytime everywhere everytime, it's like they are 5 young talented individuals who have yet to experience everything in life.
Fate.
(And Gabby told me one of them is from gsmb or amb)

Anyway, back to studying..

I must be mad.

I reached home at 0300. Slept at 0330. Woke up at 0630.

The time now is 0845 and I am in school.

I am attending this Press Training by a PR consultant. Yes. Although it is the mugging season already. Just that I thought it will help me since I am majoring in Communications and New Media and since the training is free, after all.

Anyway, I had a great time yesterday. Having fun has become something rare nowadays. After studying yesterday, I went to watch Beowulf. I like it. Not only because of its wonderful and realistic animations but the fact that it is a story laden with morals and lessons. After that, I met up with Hew Wing. She drove over to Andrew's place and then we waited for Gareth before proceeding to Jalan Kayu for supper. And then they brought me to this "Yishun Dam" where all the car enthusiasts congregate. I felt that I really needed a break especially since it has been an extremely hectic period for the past few weeks.

Anyway, we went to Seletar Airport because Gareth needed to pee and there was this big trailer with this mountain load of steel bars on the narrow road and it was reversing and re-reversing to make way for us to past by. Yeah.

It feels weird to be studying all over again. Jerome brought Hazariah and me to this wonderful but secluded place in FASS, well, not exactly in FASS but yeah. It is freezing cold. 2 more days of lessons and it will be the end of Sem 1 - not counting the exams! I have 6 papers!

23 Nov - English (YES...)
24 Nov - Economics (argh) .. MCQ and short answers..
27 Nov - Japanese Studies (argh) MCQ...
29 Nov - South Asian Studies (argh) 3 asseys
1 Dec - Sociology (argh) 3 asseys
5 Dec - Communication & New Media (argh) MCQ and short answers..
6 Dec - FINALLY!

Wish me luck. =)
But I'm sure I don't want to repeat the same mistake for A levels. ie. studying blindly....

I think MCQs are harder than asseys.

Yes, I shld be studying.. but i've been doing nothing..

I found this post.. I don't know whose blog is it, because as usual, i was hopping around links. Anyway, that person linked me. But.. I don't know even who that person is. But yeah.. reminds me of the old times, especially when we were struggling to rebuild everything. It was tough..

-Monday, May 02, 2005-
I happened to be reading some of my juniors' blogs thru the links i found one and another just now. It really moved me how much hard work they really put in and how determined they are just to redeem the GOLD that we lost the last SYF and they are even aiming for the Honours tis time. It almost made me cry when one of my juniors state in her blog that she wish that the alumni can come down for the next few days to support them thru the last practices before the big day on thurs. And she's a clarinettist.
I still remember vividly the day when our hopes and dreams crumbled on SYF 03' . Tears just trickled down the faces of everyone including the guys. I cried really bad coz I was the SL back then and I felt like such a failure. We just couldnt deal wif the fact we were awarded wif a medal that we dun deserve. Seniors and teachers alike came and consoled all of us. We just wonder which part went wrong. Was it the musicality or was it jus pure luck? I dint even turn up in school the next day coz I was badly affected and was in no mood to talk bout it. All the hard work in perfecting every single note and rhythm jus went down the drain.
But in the amidst, the band grew stronger and bonded more. We grew strength to strength and told ourselves not to give up our dream yet. We built up the band again. We supported one another and I've got to thank my section mates for being there in the darkest times. Our conductor never gave up on us and the day after SYF when we gathered in the band room to talk it over wif Dr Lee, we could almost see tears in his eyes. Some of us started crying again coz the pain was really too hard to take.
Band has no doubt been a key player in my jc life..it taught me leadership, communications skills, music skills and so many valuable experiences that i will never trade for. It instils a good fighting spirit in myself. And I learnt that in life, things dun always turn out as you always wanted it to be but be glad that in the process of achieving that dream, you have learnt things along the way and touched the heart of others.
Esplanade concert 04' was the stepping stone to more glory days of my jc band and I really hope that everything will flow smoothly on Thurs. I feel bad enuf that I cant go down and lend a helping hand wif the clarinet sect coz of my exams. sighs..but the alumni will be there to cheer them on Thurs. Looking back, i really missed my band life terribly, every single aspect of it. I can nvr ask for anything more than the company of the wonderful bandmates who have touched my heart..and it seems that i'm not the only one who misses band life..

I am so irritated that I cannot get a seat(and a table) at Starbucks because there are so many chao muggers around. Right now in Changi Airport... Polar - That High Street Cafe. Bad service (but at least they didn't chase me out) Airport brings a lot of memories definitely. I have been studying here since Sec 2. But then again, were we really studying?

I was just wondering... If the SQ (and MAS) stewardess uniform is modeled after the Kebaya, are there any airlines that uses sari as its uniform..

I want to board an aeroplane and travel the world.

:)

Have a muggerful weekend!

I really wonder. We always see ang moh expats walking their dogs. But then again, if they are expats, it is logical that they came to Singapore recently, perhaps 2 to 3 years ago(ok ok. that is a sweeping statement). Then.. How come their dogs can grow so BIG? The ang mohs feed the dogs big mac?

My Jap studies tutor brought up a question which I think is very good... "Why are Japanese products such as Hello Kitty and Pokemon so well accepted in Western countries but not Japanese Pop Idols"... Trust me.. We can all debate about this forever.

Most tutorials end this week. So sad. Yeah Right

Hak is coming back in exactly two weeks!!

I ran. Like I used to, on Sunday evenings two years ago, when I was in the Army - At Bedok Reservoir. And like I used to, I think I saw my Sec 1 PE teacher, Ms Teo. But I didn't manage to say Hi, like i used to.

It has been quite long since I ran at Bedok Reservoir. The place has changed quite significantly. But its serenity is somewhat the same. And yeah, it's a place where families spend recreational and quality time together.

They built this platform thing that faces the water. Nice view of the water, the sun and the sky from there.

Hey. I am not getting emotional lah. But I LIKE BEING ALONE! =)

I found this super old photo. Taken during TPJC's 17th College Day. Thinking back, the Top Geog (Yr 1) prize that I received was because of sheer luck. I just focused on whatever Ms Karen Teo taught for Physical Geography. Was really lucky because everything came out and thus, I managed to get an A for that paper. Plus of course, an A for the other part of the subject, Human Geography... which is supposed to be my forte.

For the Prelims/"O" Levels, I was the Top Geog student as well. For "O" Levels, I worked really hard for Geography. And it was my only A1. Haha. (all the other As were A2s).

"A" Level results were nothing but a major disappointment. However, it is just one minor setback.. And more importantly, I still managed to get a place in NUS. Sometimes, I still wish I did better but I think one should not ask for too much. With lower expectations, it is easier to be happy.

Now in FASS, I seem to be doing every other subject except Geography. Since I was in secondary school, I only wanted to do Geography in Uni. (That's partly why I went to JC instead of Poly).

School is fine.
My tutor wanted to return us our Mid Term Papers on Monday but then she said the Prof didn't allow because some tutors have not finished marking. This is to be fair to everyone. And guess what. Some people receive their papers back over the week lah. (But then again, not like my grades will run away).
Collecting South Asian paper tmr. The course coordinator sent an email informing us that the paper is ready for collection at 3plus on Friday, but I only planned to go to school after 6 for my project meeting, so by then the office wld close for the day. So heck. (thought they wld put the grades online like they did for econs)
And I have four hours of South Asian lessons tmr. A tutorial slot and a make-up lecture. Well Done.
