After wanting to go back to GSMB for a long long time, I finally had the opportunity to do so yesterday. Kenny and me met up with Emily who drove us to Tiong Bahru Plaza for a lunch treat, and after settling some of her personal admin matters, she drove us back to ARC. Chatted quite a bit in her office before heading to Blk 105.

The branch is still the same, just as messy, but the people are all different. For one thing, all the new S1 branchers look alike. As if they came out from the same mould from the same production line. Haha. Sounds bad. Nah. All of them have the typical JC look. Or perhaps it is the hair. Or perhaps it is just the army. That everyone looks uniformed in uniforms.
It was fun. When we were walking to the bus stop, I agreed with Kenny that I could not believe that I spent 1/2 a day in camp.
We round up the visit by having coffee served by Clev, as usual. We also made calls to Mdm Seetoh and Hui Pheng.
And talked a lot about the good ol' times. With the rest of the old-birds.
S1 was quite surprised to see us. Afterall, he has grown so accustomed to the fact that he only receives visitors if they have problems.
As it was year-end, lots of people were probably clearing leave. And yeah, there have been so much movement all over. Posting out and releases.
While we were walking out of the camp, along the motorcycle carpark, we turned around to see the not-so-grand old building and hey, there she was.. Mdm Monica waving at us, although she was a good 100-200 metres away. She could recognise us! She was telling us that she was bringing one of her NSFs out for dinner because it is his birthday and no one was celebrating with him. Still the same nice sweet lady she is.
I remember my first few days in Ayer Rajah. And then they had some sort of security check at the gate. She was so nice and kind when she was checking my bag.
And also bumped into CSM and Staff Chai.
My previous visit was in June. This is my 2nd visit after ORD.
Anyway, I managed to force myself to hit the gym today. Managed to do 3.95km in 20minutes. 0.05km short of my average 4km in 20minutes. But considering I haven't ran for exactly 1 month, I am quite happy.
I bought a thousand splendid suns last friday, and I've completed it! It's damn good. as good as the kite runner.

And after 7 days of slacking, I am starting work this evening. They are opening a new store at Raffles City. Can sort of re-live the good old times at raffles city. =)
